Ohio EPA offers single ID option for communication
The State of Ohio is implementing an initiative to create a universal business ID for those doing business with the state.
The creation of a universal business ID for businesses will ensure user-friendly access to the State of Ohio. Currently, companies that do business with the state for reporting, regulatory, or tax purposes have multiple account or identification numbers that vary from agency to agency.
Those transacting business with Ohio EPA may optionally use their Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) in place of Ohio EPA-issued permit or facility identification numbers. This option is targeted primarily to small businesses with one facility and environmental permits that regulate only one emission or discharge point.
You will first need to provide us with your FEIN since we have not collected this information in the past. Providing us with the following information will help ensure that your FEIN is associated with your records.
1. FEIN number 2. Facility name 3. Facility location 4. Current Ohio EPA-issued permit number or identification numbers 5. Ohio EPA Core place identification (if known) 6. A contact name and phone number in case we have questions.
