Management Practices And Measures
Overview
A considerable amount of jargon exists to describe the mechanisms to address nonpoint sources. Terms include best management practices (BMPs), management practices, management practice systems, management measures, and resource management systems (RMSs).
This section of the 2005-2010 Nonpoint Source Management Plan is meant to provide a working list of management measures, practices and guides that is as up to date as possible and can be utilized to address nonpoint sources causing threats or impairments to surface or ground water quality. It is recognized that practices/measures may have been inadvertently missed and that new practices/measures are likely to be developed. To address these issues, a process for updating the working lists has been established.
