Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations

This page displays the location of Concentrated Animal Feeding Facilities (CAFFs) permitted by the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) permitted by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA).  OEPA issues National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits to CAFOs.  The ODA issues Permits-to-Install and Permits-to-Operate to large CAFFs.  Click on an individual marker for information about a facility.

The animal numbers listed on the map indicate the maximum number of animals an operation is permitted to confine.  Please note that facilities which are empty of animals may still be required to maintain permit coverage with OEPA or ODA.  Additionally, facilities with permit coverage under ODA may not be built or operating yet.

While care has been taken to ensure that the information presented is correct, Ohio EPA cannot guarantee that the information is completely accurate.  Ohio EPA will attempt to maintain this database to account for any facility changes.  Questions or comments regarding this map can be submitted to Hunter Young in the Division of Surface Water at hunter.young@epa.ohio.gov.
